The Inaugural Taupo Amateurs

The inaugural event was a hard fought battle with the spoils only just taken by Andrew Muir. Needing to shoot a 17 on the 18th to fend off a surging Thomas Loosley, Andrew stayed composed and on the green; focused, calmed himself and confidently 3 putted to victory. Any hopes Mr Loosley had of a comeback dropped like the yellow leaders ball into the cup at the final flag.

Deep controversy surrounded the Bogeyman as, after completing two ignominious rounds, he failed to fulfil his duties caddying for the champion. He will forever remain unnamed.

Crystal clear skies throughout and some of the best swimming/rock jumping you could ask for on the Saturday meant the event went down as the best we’d ever had.
