Poker Chips


Poker Chips returns for it’s second season, refined & ready for the big stage

  • Played on Day One, players will attempt to build the best Poker hand they can by winning cards for their chipping.

    Each group will compete for 18 cards. Cards are won by being closest to the pin once all balls are on the green.

    • cards are handed out digitally on the scoresheet & you will be able to follow the live leaderboard of hands to see where you’re at

    • Every player will start with 2 cards

      • A community card : One card that all 40 players receive.

      • A table card : one card that all 4 players in your group receive

    • In each group their will be one Joker allocated

    The Joker
    Winners of the Joker will receive an additional booster for Day 2.

    The Joker offers you the Joker Ball, which can be played at any time in round 2.

  • The player with the best hand will be handed the Trump Card.

    The Trump Card may be used at any future time during Amateurs festivities to void a punishment bestowed on the player. This can be at the current Amateurs or a future event.

    Joker cards will be won in each group. This allows the winner of that hole to add an additional booster to their bag for Day 2. See boosters for more details

  • The player with the worst hand at the end of the round will receive the Bluff Buff.

    They will be asked to absorb the punishment of one player during the event. This may be any punishment that has been officially handed out, from hitchhiking to losing a 7 iron from their bag.

Glory Holes



  • “The Phelps” - Longest & Shortest Putt
    Hole 18 on Friday & Saturday

    “The Lundy” - Longest & Shortest Drive
    Hole 9 on Friday & Saturday

    “The Doc Holiday” - Nearest the Pin
    Hole 16 Friday, Hole 10 Saturday

  • Winners will receive access to a cart on the following day of Amateurs play

  • Winners will play the following day of Amateurs’ play with a “bag” from the Drongo Collection.

The Snake Pit

The centrepeice of the Champion’s Dinner remains a favourite

    • Snake Biting - Day One
      • A snake will be introduced into each group on Day One.
      • The first player to 3putt will hold the Snake. The snake will be passed on to the next player to 3putt until someone is left holding the Snake at the 19th.
      • The 10 players holding the Snake will need to complete the below challenge on Day Two to avoid being sent to the Snake Pit for the Champions Banquet.

    Snake Charming - Day Two
    Players holding a Snake after Day One must complete one of the 3 below to avoid the snake pit.

    • A chip in (A putt from off the green qualifies)

    • 3x 1 putts over 18 holes

    • No 3 putts over 18 holes (9 holes for 25+HCPers’)

    King Cobra
    Players that don’t complete their Putting Goals will enter the King Cobra Challenge to be seated in the Pit.
    Each player will use the Cobra from the Clubhouse deck to try and avoid being furthest from the Pin.

  • Mongoosing
    To Mongoose someone, complete all 3 challenges whilst holding the Snake & select a player of your choosing to enter the Snakepit in your stead.

  • Player holding a snake at the end of the round will be sent to the Snakepit

  • Tie-breakers on Day 1
    If multiple players 3 putt on the same hole the snake will passed on in this order;

    • Player holding the snake will retain it, else;

    • Player with the most putts will hold it, else;

    • Player with the lowest handicap

    Pitt Putt-off

    • High handicapper choses the order of putting

    • Player’s balls will stay where they lie throughout the Putt-off creating a Lawn Bowls scenario.

      • Results measured on final resting place of each ball once all balls have been putted

The Blueball


The Dreaded Blueball lurks…

  • The Blueball is passed from player to player until the ball is lost.
    Player’s must play a hole with the blueball once it comes to them & pass it on to the next player.

  • n/a

  • Players that fail to pass the Blueball on at the next tee box will be asked to hitchhike home that evening.


Amateur Sweepstakes

The centrepeice of the Champion’s Dinner remains a favourite

  • At Captains Picks prior to the Amateurs each player will pick up another player to back during the event.

  • $200 in prize money is a awarded to the players that are backing the Birdie Champion & Rumble Champion

  • Players backing Bogeyman & La Máscara will be reserves for the Snakepit
