Hole Contests
Best/Worst Dressed
Advantages
The Open Cup
The Cup will be lifted by the Greatest performance of the day.
Measured by the best Amateur Stablefords score across the field.
-
Amateur Stablefords are scored in the traditional values but represented as a score against par. Thus the scorecard will look like traditional strokeplay except players will not be able to shoot worse than +2 on any given hole.
-
Hole contests will add a wrinkle into players games. These must be navigated & ultimately the victor will have negotiated the quirks of this tournament better than the rest of the field.
-
Advantages can be used throughout a players round to gain an advantage in winning the Cup
-
If after 18 holes scores are deadlocked for lowest or highest NET a playoff will occur.
The playoff will be a two hole contest playing the 17th & 18th holes.
Advantages will not be in play excepting use of the Lance Watson Memorial Balls
-
Each player’s score counts. Team scores will be a sum of all four players NET Stablefords for the hole.
If a team is playing with 3 players, a ghost score will be added. Calculated as the worst NET on the hole -1.
The Open Shield
The Shield will crown the best Team performance of the Open.
Teams will compete with a combined Amateurs Stablefords score in the quest of the lowest total of the day.
Hole Contests
Advantages
Each player will be able to use each advantage once during the round
-
The Testosterone booster allows players to move their ball 12” closer to the pin once per round.
Players may use this booster anywhere on the course including greens.
Any ball 12” from the hole may be placed in the hole & save tapping in the gimme
-
Give your round a shot in the heart with the Adrenaline booster. The adrenaline booster sees the Chuck n’ Putt creep into the rulebook for the first time.
At any stage during the round you may choose to throw your ball instead of playing a traditional shot.
The throw will count as a stroke against your score but may help you to extract yourself from a life threatening lie or behind an awkward obstacle.
The throw must happen with one foot firmly planted on the exact spot of your ball’s lie.
-
Each player will receive a Trumpball at the beginning of their round to use on one hole only.
To use the Trumpball a player may call “Fake News” after any shot, replaying it from the same spot with the Trumpball. He will then finish the hole with no consequence or penalty.
If you are more partial to your original shot you may ignore your claim of “Fake News” , discard the Trumpball & act like it never happened.
-
Each play will be allowed to choose to change the cup on one hole they are putting for & hole out into the reserve cup.
